Zapier free plan limits, against every other free plan
Zapier's free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and as many Zaps as you like, but each Zap gets one trigger and one action, and polling triggers check for new data every 15 minutes. That covers 100 runs of a one-action Zap a month. The same workflow fits 500 times into Make's free plan and 1,000 times into Activepieces'.
| Free plan | A month | Runs | Checks every |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zapier | 100 tasks | 100 | 15 min |
| Make | 1,000 credits | 500 | 15 min |
| Activepieces | 1,000 credits | 1,000 | 5 min |
| Pabbly Connect | 100 tasks | 100 | – |
| Integrately | 100 tasks | 100 | 15 min |
| IFTTT | 2 Applets | Unlimited | 1 hour |
Runs: how many times a month a workflow with a trigger and one action fits, with an instant trigger, counted each platform's way; Make also counts the trigger, so one run uses 2 credits. "Checks every": how often a polling trigger looks for new data on the free plan; “–”: not published.
What does Zapier's free plan include?
- “100 tasks: The Free plan gives you 100 tasks per month to use between Zap workflows and MCP server actions.”
- “Unlimited assets: Create as many Zap workflows, tables, and forms as you want.”
- “Two-step Zap workflows: Create Zap workflows with one trigger and one action.”
- “15-minute polling interval: Zap workflows with polling triggers check for updates every 15 minutes.”
- “Single user: One user per account.”
Zapier's plan table also leaves these out of Free, with a dash in its column: Filters & Paths, Formatter, Unlimited premium apps, Connections via webhooks, Pay-per-task billing. Paid plans add, in Zapier's words, “Premium apps: Use some of the most popular apps with Zapier.” and “Multi-step Zap workflows: Add more than one action to your Zap.”
How many Zaps can you have on the free plan?
As many as you like: the limit is the 100 tasks a month, shared by all of them. Each one can have a single action, so a one-action Zap uses one task per run.
What happens when the 100 free tasks run out?
Your Zaps wait for the allowance to reset. Zapier: “If your plan does not include pay-per-task billing or if you have turned it off, when your plan reaches its task limit Zapier will hold any new Zap runs until your billing cycle resets.” Pay-per-task billing, which keeps Zaps running past the limit, is not on Free: “This feature is only available on paid Zapier plans.” Held runs aren't lost: “Your Zap runs will be held, not lost. Held runs are paused and can be replayed from your Zap History once you have available tasks.”
Make vs Zapier: which free plan goes further?
Make's free plan has 1,000 credits a month, 10 times Zapier's 100 tasks. But Make counts the trigger as well as each action, and only 2 scenarios can be active at a time on Free (unlimited on paid plans).
Polling is where Make's free credits go. A scenario that checks for new data every 15 minutes, the free plan's minimum, makes 2,880 checks a month, and Make charges a credit for each. That is more than the 1,000 credits: the checks alone use them up in about 10 days (how Make credits work). Zapier doesn't charge for checks: “If a Zap checks an app every two minutes, it will complete over 20 thousand polls per month. Zapier does not charge for these events.”
Other free plans
- Activepieces: “1,000 credits a month”, one credit per run however many steps it has. Its plan table also says “Credit reset Daily … Going over Waits for tomorrow”, while its FAQ says “You get a fresh 1,000 credits every month, so if you use them all, you wait until the next month.”
- Pabbly Connect: “Start for free and get 100 tasks - no credit card required.” The catch: “2-Step Workflows You can create up to 2 workflows with up to 2 steps.”
- Integrately: 100 tasks, 5 automations, “Single Step”, and an update time of 15 minutes.
- IFTTT: “Unlimited Applet runs” on 2 Applets, but polling triggers are slow: “These trigger checks occur every 5 minutes for Pro and Pro+ users, and every hour for Free users.”
- n8n: no free Cloud plan, only a trial (“Trial limits: 1,000 executions, 5 concurrent executions, a 180-second execution timeout, and 1 team project”). The self-hosted Community Edition is free; you pay for the server (what self-hosting n8n costs).
- Power Automate: “Using basic Power Automate capabilities is included at no cost for work or school accounts in a Microsoft Entra tenant. The Power Automate Free license includes creating and running cloud flows (without sharing), as well as authoring and running desktop flows locally (attended). Connector usage is limited to standard connectors only.” (Power Automate pricing)
n8n's documentation: “When you create a new n8n Cloud trial, you have 14 days to try all the features of the Pro plan”; then the trial ends, so its 1,000 executions are not a monthly free allowance.
